April 2018 Update
As the clouds part and the perfect beach weather arrives more travellers are hitting the shores of Lombok to enjoy the untouched beaches, uncrowded waves and relax in the recently completed villas within the resort. Also the clear skies have meant an acceleration of construction at the resort and on the island. In Stage 3 we have had another 3 villas commence construction and 9 villas still ongoing, while nearby at the Mandalika, The Pullman Hotel has started to make rapid progress.

We were proud to hand over the spectacular villa 1C to it's very happy owner in April and this adds to our inventory of 12 unique pool villas within the resort - we will showcase this impressive villa next month so stay tuned.

Community wise, there have been joint initiatives across key stakeholders in the Selong Belanak area to assemble a coordinated team to ensure the area remains as pristine as it was when we arrived. More to follow on this.
  • VILLAS: 11E welcomed its first guests;  another stunning 3 bedroom bespoke villa that stylishly combines modern architecture with an Indonesian touch  to add to our inventory. See more >
  • RESORT: Our new General Manger is utilising his experience in some of the finest New York restaurants to introduce some exciting new dishes to the Aura menu.  See more >

Art and nature combine...
More stunning villas continue to be handed over to their lucky owners each month.  Introducing the jaw-dropping villa 11E, a bespoke 3 bedroom beauty that makes us want to immediately book a flight to Lombok for a long weekend of blissful relaxation and inspiring views.

The perfect blend of creativity and artistic design, coupled with warmth and functionality, villa 11E will have guests muttering 'wow' the moment they enter through the hand-crafted Indonesian teak double doors. Ornate bamboo screens wrap around the entire upper level, with an impressive modern light installation hanging at eye level.  The  bamboo frames create the sense of peeping through a jungle of trees to the vivid view beyond.  Art, architecture and nature combine into one harmonious vision.

Stepping down to the main living area you are greeted with a bright and open living and dining area, stylishly furnished in a comfortable modern-indonesian style.  Floor to ceiling sliding doors open the full width of the living room to reveal the large infinity pool and the mesmerising views of the rice fields below and the Indian Ocean to the horizon.  A large covered bale next to the pool gives a wonderful option for outdoor dining with a view. Three large bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms boast expansive views and make this a perfect holiday villa for families or groups of friends.

Selong Selo's Top 10

The month of May will see the launch of our 'Selong Selo Top 10 list' - a curated and bespoke list of unique luxury guest experiences within Selong Selo resort and Southern Lombok.  Think, hideaway picnics in clandestine locales, up close and personal experiences with local fisherman, including a majestic sunset tour on the sea complete with a white gloved butler serving champagne and canapés, and our Twilight Dreams Experience: a well-deserved sunset massage where you are encouraged to nod off at your leisure – awaken to nightfall, and the starlit sea and sky, and then be spoiled with a romantic candlelit dinner.
Aura fires up...

With our new General Manager Raymond Saja having started his career as a chef working in some of the best-known restaurants in New York City, exciting changes are taking place in the food and beverage department at Aura with a newly revised menu.  Aura’s wood-burning pizza oven will soon begin working overtime, making much more than just pizzas, turning out new delicious dishes such as:
  • Succulent Brined Chicken with Fire Roasted Vegetables and House Pickles Agrodolce
  • Wood-smoked Brick of Tuna, Caponata, and Chimichurri
  • Authentic Moroccan Chicken Tagine with Apricots, Green Olives, and Cauliflower “couscous”

April saw the much anticipated launch of the new Kemah Collection at Selong Selo Resort, a glamping style resort of 20 luxury one bedroom villas located below Selong Selo Residences. Canopy style resorts have become increasingly popular and a great deal of interest has been generated in a short time following the Kemah Collection’s debut. From only 149k USD it is targeted towards the investor who wants the comfort of guaranteed 8% yields while owning their own luxury lifestyle getaway villa.
The Kemah  Collection seamlessly integrates the beauty of the surrounding nature without compromising the comforts and amenities of a luxury resort. Each one-bedroom tented villa is positioned to maximize the beauty of the Selong Belanak Bay view. The new resort will feature a restaurant, BBQ area, spa and pool.
The bioclimatic design of the tented villas ensures maximum comfort and uses little energy. The roof structure has 4 different protective layers and the tents are self cleaning, utilizing specialized nanotechnology. They are designed to withstand harsh elements, including hurricane force winds.
The interiors are inspired by old world colonial adventure and each villa comes with the option of a refreshing plunge pool.
Selong Selo Residences - 2 New Lots Available!

In addition, 2 new lots within the Selong Selo Residences have been released for sale in the month of April - 5E and 3E. These desirable lots sit at the apogee of the Selong Selo Residences, adjacent to Aura Bar and Lounge and command spectacular views. The lots are being filled and leveled, which will allow for reduced build costs and the ability to maximize the garden area. Bordered by the tennis court and gym, all of the Residence’s facilities are conveniently close.

Footprints Foundation Update...
The Selo Footprints Foundation has been holding consultations with various stakeholders to determine how we can give back to the community and environment in the best ways possible. Through bringing together the expertise and skills of a range of organisations and individuals, we are now drafting a program to address the priority needs of Selong Belanak.

The overall aim of the program will be to contribute to building the resilience of the Selong Belanak community and environment through complementary projects and initiatives focussing on education, economic development and environmental sustainability.

We will soon register the Selo Footprints Foundation in Indonesia and Singapore to commence this important work.
